Get Everyone Involved

Workplace safety doesn’t happen on its own.It takes everyone from the person running the company (president, owner or CEO) down to the last employee to make it a reality.

Why is that?

Because a company safety program that really protects employees from hazards in the workplace takes the support and commitment of management and all your employees to make it happen.

Let me explain.

Over the years I have spoken to countless employees who have just been put in charge of safety or been named the company Safety Director and they don’t know where to start.

That’s right.Upper management has selected one employee to handle company safety and then they’ve been left to themselves to figure out how to make it happen.

Doesn’t sound very promising, does it?

Well, I can tell you from years of experience that a company safety program that starts out with just one person trying to make it happen is doomed to fail. The odds of that person even being in that position 6 months to a year later are slim to none.

As I said above, for workplace safety to become a reality it takes the support and commitment of management and all your employees. You can’t make that happen by turning over the responsibility to one or even a couple employees and then walk away and hope for the best.

Now, if your company has found success in implementing a company safety program that protects your employees from hazards in the workplace, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

And for those of you considering taking your safety program to the next level, one that truly protects your employees, don’t make the same mistake as others have done before you.Get everyone involved.

I guarantee that it will be one of the best investments you’ll ever make.

As 2019 draws to a close, it’s a great time to reevaluate your company safety program and make it the best it can be for 2020 and years to come.
