What Can We Do To Eliminate These Accidents? 

There is no question that the workplace has become a safer place to be than in years past. That being said it is important for everyone to understand that we still need to do more.

Why?

Because every workday employees are still being seriously injured in accidents caused by simple acts of carelessness – accidents that should have never happened.

So, what can we do to help eliminate these accidents?

First we should remember that this is not rocket science and we don’t need to make it more difficult than it really is.

We can start by educating employees regarding the hazards in the workplace.

This can be accomplished with workplace safety orientations, employee safety handbooks, safety meetings and formal safety training.

If you don’t have a formal training program in place, don’t panic and please don’t put off doing something simple today just because it’s not everything you think it should be.

A simple 5-10 minute safety meeting on a regular basis (once week) will go a long way in providing awareness and preventing workplace accidents.

A safe workplace is all about providing continued awareness of hazards and what we need to do to prevent exposure to those hazards. If we continue to provide employees awareness on a daily, weekly and monthly basis it will go a long way in preventing these senseless workplace accidents.

Don’t make workplace safety more difficult than it has to be - Take 5-10 minutes today and let everyone know that their safety is important to you and make today a little safer for everyone.
