Safety E-QuickTips is a weekly email designed to help Employers and Employees start their week with a short thought about safety in the workplace.
Work Safe This Week
If you've been reading our Safety E-QuickTip over the past few years, you may have noticed that each one ends with "Thanks for Reading and Please - Work Safe This Week!". I do this for two reasons. The first being I really do appreciate you taking the time to read what I have to say about safety and the second...I hope that you and anyone working with you, is not involved in a workplace accident.
So, today while I was deciding what to talk about this week, I became a little concerned about how I end each Safety E-QuickTip.
Let me explain.
By saying the same thing every week at the end of each Safety E-QuickTip, I understand how easy it might be for you to just read through the words and not really give a lot of thought to what I'm really saying.
And why is that?
I'm asking you to always keep safety on your mind...every minute of every workday and make every effort possible to ensure that you and those working for or with you, go home each day accident free.
Although I am sure that each of you take safety seriously, I understand that during any workday, with everything else that is going on, you may find yourself looking past potential workplace hazards that could lead to an accident.
Let's face it, accidents normally don't happen every day and in many cases, it may have been a year or more since your company had an injury that required more than a band aid. That could lead anyone to believe they are doing everything they should be to promote a safe workplace.
Remember, if you've had a good run without any workplace accidents or if your company has had a recent workplace accident, safety needs to be on all of our minds in everything that we do each and every day. Just one lapse in good judgment could lead to the next workplace accident.
From everyone at U.S. Compliance Systems, have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
