The Choice Is Yours

Everyone has the ability to choose if they will work in a safe manner at work today, this week and the rest of their working career. Or they can play the odds and work in an unsafe manner.

But the choices we make could have a devastating effect on how we live the rest of our lives.

It’s a fact that most workplace accidents don’t end with employees being seriously injured or with anything more than a little scrape or bruise.

It’s also a fact that workplace accidents can lead to serious injury and even death.

Then why is it that some employees continue to make poor choices when it comes to workplace safety, choices that are clearly not in their best interest?

Choices like not using ladders correctly, using a 5-gallon bucket as a ladder, not cleaning up a spill when it happens, or bypassing a safety device on a machine.

I could go on and on, but I’m sure you have gotten the point.

Doesn’t it make good sense for us not to play the odds, not leaving safety to chance.

As we work our way toward Labor Day, a national holiday that is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers, I hope you will choose to work in a safe manner so you and others working with you can enjoy the holiday that celebrates your contribution to this great country.

The choice is yours.
